I enjoy problem-solving and serving with others for the greater good. I graduated from Blinn College with a degree in Social Science/ Psychology and from Texas State University with a Criminal Justice/ Law Enforcement degree and a minor in Forensic Psychology. While serving my city, I helped our New Braunfels Housing Authority bring the Veterans Affairs Subsidized Housing (VASH) voucher system to our city, started a nonprofit to advocate, educate, and collaborate with other organizations to promote more resources for Veterans and their families to our county.

Originally from Baltimore, I started my Air Force career at Officer Training School (OTS), located at Medina Base, San Antonio, Texas. Then came Navigator training at Mather AFB, CA. Upon graduation, I was assigned to Tinker AFB, OK, which at the time was the only base for E-3 AWACS. I flew AWACS for over 10 years, stationed at Tinker and Kadena AB, Japan. I flew sorties in Just Cause (Panama) and Desert Storm/Desert Shield (Saudi Arabia), as well as many other deployments and contingencies. My staff tour was at the 8th Air Force Headquarters,
Barksdale AFB, LA, working in combat plans. My final assignment brought me back to San Antonio, teaching at the Joint Navigator Training School at Randolph AFB, TX, flying T-43s.
After retirement I became a teacher, working in both traditional schools and charter schools in New Braunfels and San Antonio. Grades taught were 5-12, with the last 6 years mainly with special education students.
After retirement, I worked for Hill Country MHDD, first in Canyon Lake, then throughout their catchment area with Veterans and their families.
I am now retired!

I am grateful for all God has given me; without him nothing is possible. I am going on my 6th year as a Mortgage Loan Officer and am blessed to work at First United Mortgage and Trust where Faith and Family come first. I retired after 21 years of service as a Navy Senior Enlisted Leader/Air Traffic Control Senior Chief Petty Officer. I received my Master of Science from University of Incarnate Word and my Bachelor’s in applied science and technology at Thomas Edison State College. While pursuing my master’s I discovered my love for Mortgage as I missed solving problems and finding solutions for difficult problems. I am married to my amazing husband Daniel Schuyler, where he was a Navy Seabee with 20 years of service. We have two amazing daughters: Danielle and Alexa "Lexie" and our amazing Makayla who we adopted from Bulverde Human Society. When we decided to retire, we based the decision on what's best for our family and that was to be closer to other family. We feel in love with Comal County and moved here so our daughters could grow up with their cousins and have family support. We love our church and even more we love that our girls will grow with a positive group. When we aren’t busy with work or school we are involved with Jiu Jitsu, horseback riding, swimming, golf, dance, animals and going to the beach
